On Tuesday, May 18, Abp. Elder Council held its second Rosary Social. We had a better turn out than our first in April. Brother Knights and guests fed their souls with prayer and their stomachs with delicious Ice Cream!

Old St. Mary’s Pregnancy Center Receives Donation
On May 20, 2021, Grand Knight Phil Motz, in the presence of his brother Knights and volunteers at Old St. Mary’s Pregnancy Center, presented a check in the amount of $10,530.00 to Martha Spaeth at Old St. Mary’s Pregnancy Center. May 20, 2021. Once again, Abp. Elder Council expresses its gratitude to the generous parishioners and donors to this vital campaign!
Brother Jon Emory: A Knight In Shining Armor
Grand Knight Phil Motz presented the Shining Armor Award to Worthy Brother Jon Emory during the Council Business meeting on May 6, 2021. Congratulations Jon!
To qualify for the Shining Armor Award, anew Knight must do the following during his first year:
- Be involved with at least 3 Council service programs
- Attend at least 3 Council Business meetings
- Receive their 2nd and 3rd Degrees
- Meet with the Council’s Insurance Agent
- Recruit at least one new member
First Rosary Social
Abp. Elder Council hosted the first of what will hopefully be many Rosary Socials. Knights were joined by St. Gertrude parishioners, family, and friends to pray the Rosary and enjoy some sweet ice cream. Fun was had by all!
Baby Bottle Collection for Old St. Mary Pregnancy Center
Abp. Elder Council was once again blown away by the incredible generosity of the parishioners of St. Gertrude. Our council conducted our annual baby bottle collection for the Crisis Pregnancy ministry at Old St. Mary’s. This is a picture of the 256 bottles we collected during the 2021 Baby Bottle Collection. Thank you again St. Gertrude!
