Archbishop Elder Council 1195

The Silver Rose Rosary and Prayer Service was held on Monday, June 23, 2025, at St. Gertrude Church by our Worthy Abp. Elder Council. Thank you to all who attended and helped make this a wonderful evening.

Congratulations to the Joe and Mary Sharpshair family for being selected by the Ohio State Council for Cincinnati’s Family of the Year.

The 2025 Abp. Elder Council TopGolf Fundraising Event was a huge success in raising money for The American Wheelchair Mission. Everyone had a great time and some even managed to come home with a trophy. Thank you to all our sponsors and golfers.

District Deputy Tom Hahn presented our Worthy Grand Knight Bill Shefcik and Past Grand Knight Pete Marcello with the Contest of Champions Award and the Double Star Council Award for the work that Pete and Abp, Elder Council did in Fiscal Year 2023-2024. Contest of Champions was for exceeding our Membership Goals and Double Star is for membership growth, for our programs, and for turning in our forms in a timely manner.

Great job PGK Pete Marcello, the Executive Officers, and worthy brothers of Abp. Elder Council.

The official portraits of Past Grand Knights of both Archbishop Elder council and Fr. Wittrock council (which merged with Elder in the 1970’s) have been hung in the hallway outside the council hall – former Wittrock GKs on one side and former Elder GKs on the other.

The backstory here is that these portraits once hung on the wall inside the council hall until we had water damage to the hall back in 2010. It was this damage that led to the renovation of the hall with the rich paneling and green walls that you see today. The portraits were placed in a box and have resided in a closet for the last nearly 15 years. It is fitting to restore them to a place of visibility and honor where current council members can view and pay tribute to those who preceded us as Knights of Columbus!
