The Good Shepherd
This website was designed for one soul, yours. There are many doubts, arguments and consensus thinking that will tell you that Christianity is only one of many paths to God or it’s a myth. Both doubting and the shame from denying are survivable unfortunately the consensus thinkers can put some on a path to destruction.
One can only doubt and feel shame when one believes. The examples here are doubting Thomas and Peter’s denial. It's not for nothing that Jesus disciples were men like us full of doubters, deniers and betrayers. The key is to understand Christianity’s message is to understand that these normal men were just like us. We are doubters, deniers and betrayers. We need to see that if Peter, Thomas and yes-even Judas could become apostles so can we. Christianity is a grownup’s religion. It understands the building blocks are men; whose natural tendency is to sin. It is a religion for sinners that deep down with a humble heart realize they cannot make it by themselves. Jesus was born of Mother Mary to show us the path to eternal life and create the door to God.
The consensus thinkers are for men that are self-righteous; that want to create their own religion to fit their lifestyle. They find power in the many that agree with their belief that there are many gates to God. These pied pipers of history will take millions with them; they start off tame enough and in the end are willing to kill everyone. The peril for the individual soul here is that when you finally make it to that awesome moment, the final judgment as Bishop Fulton Sheen said, "You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God and a terror will rip through your soul like nothing you can imagine." The consensus will not help you; you will be alone with the stains on your soul.
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.” Matthew Ch7 V7-8.
What does that mean? From my perspective it means do not follow the consensus thinkers, but take the hard road through Christ to God. Pick up your cross and follow the way, the truth, and the life.
If you read this website it may open your mind and heart to Jesus. You may find out that something was manipulating you to put faith in others. Was it easy answers that supported your desire to sin? Was it the argument that so many Christians are not consistent, invalidating Christianity because so many that believe are not good? As the Pharisees --Intellectuals of their time-- said,
"This man welcomes sinners and eats with them." So to them He addressed this parable. "What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, 'Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.' I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance." Luke Ch15 V2-7
